Dorothy
Dorothy Gathungu-McPherson is a certified John Maxwell teacher, trainer, coach, and speaker. She is also an entrepreneur in the healthcare field, a registered nurse, and a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience.
Dorothy started her career as a bank clerk in Nairobi, Kenya, before immigrating to North America, where she trained as a nurse. She practiced nursing in medical-surgical units, intensive care, community health, home health, and hospice. Currently, Dorothy is the President / CEO of Progressive Home Health & Hospice, which she co-founded in1995 with her husband, Shawn.
In addition to her executive career, Dorothy serves on the board of advisory for the Hesston Nursing Department. She is married to Shawn McPherson, and together they have three (3) adult daughters. Dorothy enjoys working on her garden, where you will find her when not in the office.
She is passionate about mentoring others and hosts LIVE2 LEAD leadership conferences and global youth leadership conferences in Wichita, Kansas.
Dorothy is a self-driven leader with a can-do attitude. She credits her godly grandparents, who were both pastors, for grounding her in faith and prayer. She thrives at overcoming obstacles, motivating others to be the difference-maker.
